Don't worry, their sleeping patterns will change as soon as you think you are used to it--especially the baby's!

I remember reading about orgasmic birth during my first pregnancy. Although I had two easy labors, the "ring of fire" sure didn't feel like an orgasm in any way, shape or form. Actually, few things have ever made me feel as panicky as that ring of fire feeling when the baby is just coming out.

And I agree, I did not feel like kissing during labor. Although I didn't mind my husband's voice or company. I have always really liked his voice, since before we were dating!

Sounds like a good movie...I like your analogy of the car being on your foot :) made me laugh. I can relate. And yeah...making out during labor? Give me a break. Backrub yes. Kissing, not so much.

I feel you on this one...my daughter usually goes down for the night between 11 and 1...unfortunately I'm still stuck on my pregnancy sleep schedule which didn't let me get any rest till 3am. It doesn't seem to matter how tired I am, if I'm in bed before that I just lay there unable to sleep...and praying that the baby sleeps long enough that I can fall asleep before she gets up to eat.

Whoa Photoshop CS4 for $45???? Holy Cow! That's a $699 program! That'd be amazing! The memory cards I get on Newgg are Compact Flash and the one I'm wanting to get soon is less then half the price of Wal Mart. I haven't priced any other kind of Memory as we only have Compact flash (and at that only certain brands) but we also buy parts to build and up grade our computers as well as other various things that are always significantly less than the other places we've looked. Although I see that Amazon has better prices on a full version of CS4 than Newgg and the same price on an upgrade. We just purchase upgrades rather then full versions (which is a pain if you have to reinstall) but it costs just 199 instead of the 600-700 bucks. Speaking of Photoshop, I better get back to working on photos :o)

Erm, in those cultures my family would be bringing ME food. Not showing up on the day/time we told them we had our three-day checkup with the midwife and deciding that, since they weren't hungry for lunch, they didn't need to pick up anything for us, either, despite the fact that their son specifically asked them to.

Not that that happened to me....

Instant mashed potatoes. Well, I bought Hungry Jack and they were kind of pasty. I grew up on Idaho Spuds and don't remember thinking they were gross, but when I got married and started making them from scratch, I thought they were much, much better.

We eat...gosh I can't remember the brand, but they come in little individual packets... when we go camping and those are YUMMY. (It's hard to keep the water boiling for long enough on a campstove to boil potatoes. This brand, you heat up the water, then add the mixture and whip it up, and you're done. Super easy.)

Are those instant mashed potatoes any good? I always thought they were terrible.

By the way, in my book anything goes when you're hosting Thanksgiving with a newborn baby. In some cultures you'd still be lounging around in bed for 40 days after the baby's birth, not scrambling to fix Thanksgiving dinner!
