She’s right. When women find the things she listed in a hospital setting, they often choose that setting over home.
We had an appt with Cosette this weekend. She had read my records and my birth story from W’s birth and we spent some time talking about what happened with him. She then spent a bit of time talking about the atmosphere at home. Quiet, calm. Nobody hovering. There’s not a rush of panicked activity as the baby nears crowning. Maybe people creep closer just in case they are needed, but there’s no adrenaline-packed hustle and bustle. Listening to her talk… she was describing exactly what I want, exactly why I want to be home this time.
If I could get that at a hospital…yeah, I’d be there.
