Yeah, just kidding when I said bullseye. I did hit the target at least.
For his birthday, which is today, Randy wanted to go to the shooting range, which we’ve never done. In fact, I’ve never shot a gun before. So we loaded up and headed out to a shooting range near Indianola. The PLAN was that Genna would go to sleep since it was near the time she normally goes to sleep, and I could leave her in the car and go shoot with Randy. Instead, she decided to stay awake, so after sitting in the car with her for an hour and a half while Randy and Wally shot, we switched off and Randy sat in the car with her while I went to go figure out how to use my gun.
(Yes, Wally shot. He has an airsoft bb gun. It’s not a toy. He knows that.)
My gun (Beretta Tomcat), for being a tiny girly gun, has a surprising amount of kickback. Actually, the first shot was the easiest, when I didn’t know what to expect. The rest of the shots were a bit harder, since I found myself wincing in anticipation. Not that it hurt, it just was powerful.
I shot 2 clips, and got practice at loading the clip, loading the gun, unloading the gun, etc. I’m now confident that if I needed to, I could use my gun. I have a 50% chance of hitting my target, lol.
Actually, my gun has a laser sight, but I couldn’t see it on the target 50 feet away.
But over half of the shots I took hit the target paper. Half of those were technically misses, because if they’re not actually in the circle, they apparently don’t count, but I was happy just hitting the paper. I’m thinking of taking a class, potentially a class for women.
