All in all, we had a nice day. We were unable to attend Christmas Eve services (again) in order to fit in with the schedule at Randy’s parents’ house. (Despite, yes, being told that we could attend this year and they’d just have to wait for us.)
But we had a lovely time, sharing a meal and then exchanging gifts. Wally was very well-behaved, which was a real blessing.
Christmas day was a bit awkward throughout, but I won’t go into details. Let’s just say there was the unexpected joy of opening all of our presents with an audience, and then Randy taking a long nap and yelling at Wally to leave him alone – which he swears he doesn’t remember doing, leading to lots of tears, which led to coughing, and then to barf on our new, 2 hour old sheets. Which led, of course, to my doing three loads of unexpected laundry, on top of the diapers and two loads of clothes I was already doing. (hey – Friday is my laundry day. My schedule stops for no holiday.) And Randy thought he heard another mouse, which we thought we’d gotten rid of.
We enjoyed most of our day together, and ended up playing Wii for a while, and then eating our traditional Christmas dinner of roast (this year, from Ebersole Cattle Company, and super super yummy) with potatoes, peppers, carrots, onion, garlic, etc. Yum.
Oh, and that picture? Wally’s big present was the Jedi Mind trainer. That’s Genna wearing the headset.
