We take a lot of crap from folks about attachment parenting and homeschooling. It’s usually just coming from ignorance, which is forgiveable. If parenting philosophies (and parenting in general) isn’t something that interests you, I understand why you wouldn’t be very well-versed on the ins and outs of AP, what it is, what it isn’t, the benefits and drawbacks. Same with homeschooling. If you’ve never considered it, I can see why you would believe all the old, untrue assumptions about socialization or independence or whatever. But I also expect you to be honest and admit that you have not, in fact, done any research, and so you ARE working from a position of ignorance.
It’s hard to admit when you’re ignorant, but it’s important, because it’s only when you admit that you don’t know something that you can learn. That’s true for ALL of us.
