I just want to say. It wasn’t all that long ago that the science was settled about the Earth being the center of the Universe. All the scientists agreed, and those who dared to suggest that Earth might not be the center were shunned and ridiculed.
It wasn’t all that long ago that the science was settled about the Earth being flat. Those scientists who believed otherwise were few in number, and were ridiculed.
It wasn’t all that long ago that the science was settled about the number of planets in our Solar System. You remember Pluto, right? All the scientists agreed, Pluto was the ninth planet. Guess what? The “scientific fact” about Pluto being a planet suddenly changed when more evidence became available suggesting that Pluto was merely a large-ish rock, not really a planet.
So all this “the science is settled” crap about global warming is really getting on my nerves. “But it’s science.” “All the respected scientists agree.” Blah blah blah. All the respected scientists agreed about Earth being the center of the Universe. And they were all wrong. (And, plus, it’s not even factually correct to say that all the respected scientists agree about global warming – many respected scientists do not agree. They’re just marginalized and shunned because they refuse to step in line.)
