Just finished World War Z. It was a pretty good read, though I wish I’d realized sooner than the end that some of the people interviewed were in more than one chapter, lol.
World War Z is a series of interviews conducted after victory is declared in the Zombie War. Though there are still cleanup efforts ongoing, the fighting is largely over, most nations have reclaimed most of their land, etc. The author interviewed various people – leaders of nations, soldiers, medical personnel, etc.
Frankly, I found the first parts to be the scariest – the parts detailing how inept nearly every government response was to the early stages of the zombie virus. The denials, the inability to realize the depth of the problem, etc. Because I think the author hit the nail on the head with how government WOULD respond. Not exactly confidence-inspiring.
