I’m so offended!

I don’t understand the compulsion some have to take words offered in love and find fault and offense.

Words offered in love are not always devoid of awkwardness.

Words offered in love are not always free of discomfort.

Words offered in love are not always exactly what we want to hear.

Or easy to hear.

Or a truth we are yet ready to face.

Yet, if they are offered from a place of love, caring, and/or concern, can’t we attempt to rise beyond our own pride, our own egos, and accept them as offered?

    • I’ve sometimes (often) found that if someone’s decided to take offense instead of taking things as intended, the scripture doesn’t usually do any good. I’m glad your experiences are different.
